Simply talking about our loss issues and unresolved grief is insufficient. We may feel better for a while, but then the pain always snaps back like a rubber band on our wrist. The key is to be heard for our truth in an atmosphere of respect, dignity and safety. Listeners in mini-groups are instructed in how to be accepting and nonjudgmental. We cannot offload the weight of unresolved grief without this type of acceptance, we can only shift the heavy suitcase from one hand to the other.
